Why Is a Public Insurance Adjuster Essential?

Significant insurance claims demand strong advocacy. Every claim involves two sidesโ€”yours and the insurance companyโ€™sโ€”and each has its own interests. Just as you would rely on an accountant for your taxes, a real estate agent for a property transaction, or an attorney for a legal matter, having the right professional on your side makes a difference.

Insurance carriers have their own adjusters working for themโ€”so why face that process without an expert representing you? As licensed professionals, we bring specialized knowledge and experience to your claim. By putting our expertise to work for you, you gain confidence and peace of mind knowing your interests are being protected every step of the way, with a singular focus on helping you achieve a full and fair recovery.

Handling It Yourself vs. Hiring a Public Adjuster

Whoโ€™s on your side.

  • On your own: You, working with the insurerโ€™s adjuster.

  • With Central Claims Consulting: A licensed public adjuster who represents you.

Documenting damage.

  • On your own: Your photos and notes.

  • With Central Claims Consulting: Full inspection and documentation.

The estimate.

  • On your own: Usually the insurerโ€™s estimate.

  • With Central Claims Consulting: A line-by-line Xactimate estimate based on construction experience.

Experts.

  • On your own: You find them, if needed.

  • With Central Claims Consulting: Contractors, engineers, and hygienists coordinated when needed.

Back-and-forth with the insurer.

  • On your own: Your calls, emails, and follow-ups.

  • With Central Claims Consulting: I handle it and keep you updated.

Cost.

  • On your own: No adjuster fee.

  • With Central Claims Consulting: No upfront cost; Iโ€™m paid a percentage of what the claim recovers.

Plenty of claims are simple enough to handle yourself. If yours isnโ€™t, or itโ€™s stalled, thatโ€™s where I come in.

How much does a public adjuster cost?

The claim review is free. If we decide to work together, thereโ€™s no upfront cost. Iโ€™m paid a percentage of what the claim recovers, and the fee is spelled out in a written agreement before any work starts. Ask me anything about it on our first call.

The earlier you call, the more I can help.

If you can, reach out before the insurance companyโ€™s inspection, and before you sign anything or accept an offer. That gives me time to document the damage, review your policy, and be part of the process from the start. Already past that point? Call anyway. The review is still free.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a public adjuster?

A public adjuster is a licensed professional who represents the policyholder, not the insurance company, on a property insurance claim. I review your policy, document the damage, prepare the estimate, and negotiate with your insurer on your behalf.

How is a public adjuster different from the insurance company's adjuster?

The insurance company's adjuster works for the insurer. A public adjuster works for you. We may look at the same damage, but my job is to make sure your side of the claim is fully documented and presented.

Is it too late if my claim was already denied or paid?

Not necessarily. Depending on your policy and how much time has passed, a denied or underpaid claim can often get a second look. I'll review where things stand and tell you honestly whether I can help.

What types of claims do you handle?

Fire and smoke, water, wind, storm and hail, denied or underpaid claims, and commercial property claims, for homeowners, landlords, and business owners.

Do you work outside Fresno or outside California?

Yes. I'm based in Fresno and work with residential and commercial property owners throughout California. I'm also licensed as a public adjuster in Washington (WA Lic. #20968581; WA Entity Lic. #1372714). If your property is in another state, give me a call anyway, and I'll do my best to point you to a licensed public adjuster in your area.

What should I do right after a loss?

Make sure everyone is safe. If it's safe to do so, take photos and video before anything is moved or cleaned up. Take reasonable steps to prevent more damage, like shutting off the water or covering openings. Notify your insurance company, keep receipts for emergency repairs and temporary housing, and call me before you sign anything.

Will hiring a public adjuster slow down my claim?

It shouldn't. Organized documentation and a detailed estimate up front give the insurer what it needs to evaluate the claim, and I handle the follow-ups so things keep moving.

Not Sure Where Your Claim Stands? Letโ€™s Take a Look.

Tell me what happened and what the insurance company has said so far. The claim review is free, and youโ€™ll get a straight answer on whether I can help.
